How to apply
We welcome applications from people or groups who have designed a project to promote mental healthcare . Your project needs to benefit service users, staff members or to improve service provision. If it is a research project, it should be have capacity for service innovation.
What types of applications will be considered?
The Charity will consider any application related to one or more of the themes below:
- Innovative services
Developing, or accelerating the introduction of, innovative services that benefit mental health patients across the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust area. - Research
Supporting innovative, early-stage applied research into mental health. Charitable funds might, for instance, provide seed funding for a pilot scheme that cannot source funding from another funder. - Infrastructure
Developing infrastructure that promotes cutting-edge mental health practices. - Training and development
Training and development projects that support innovative mental health practices and awareness within the community.
How much funding is available?
The Charity's annual allocation for grants is £1.25 million. Applications will be considered for funding up to £125,000 over a maximum period of three years.
When should I apply?
Deadlines for applications are 31 May and 30 November each year.

Walker Trust Fund Application
Bids are invited on behalf of service users, to apply for
amounts up to £250 maximum to support people in their recovery, for
example things such as vocational or other courses or items needed
to further their activities.
